i swear i've seen a lot of stuff in my life, but that... was... AWESOME

last night i had the privilege of experiencing my very first ben fold's concert. had i seen this in 7th grade, i never would have quit piano lessons. what a show. it's going down as one of my favorite concerts ever. i love when you've been listening to an artist, and you like their music but then you go to a show of theirs and you immediately have this newfound admiration and respect for them. from that moment on it changes your whole point of view. it makes the albums you've been listening to that much better. it makes you want to purchase their entire music collection. it reminds you that there is REAL talent out there.

ben definitely seems like one of the coolest people ever. he didn't come off as cocky or bored or too good for omaha. he rocked his heart out and damn is he talented. his drummer and bassist are awesome, too. one of my very favorite things in the world is vocal harmony, and those three were amazing.

the thing i will always remember is a moment that will go down as one of my favorite concert experiences ever. it's when he played "army." if you know the song, there's that big horn part throughout the song but since there weren't any horns with him he actually directed the crowd to sing it--all the different parts and everything. it was so very very cool.

thanks for the excellent show.

Ben Folds has done more creative things in 12 minutes than you've done in your life! Preppy nerd geek ass!

...sorry, I thought that was the standard reply to a concert review...

Ben Folds rocks the house. I saw him when he was a part of the five a few years ago (maybe 6?), right after Reinhold Messner came out. It was a good show. AND he didn't play "Brick."

Sorry for the long comment. GI is sucking my will to live.
