thanks and ranting and bears, oh my
i'd have to say that this past week has been a lot of fun. everybody was so sweet for my birthday and i really appreciate it. i got very cool surprises and very cool gifts, who could ask for more.
oh, so don't try to watch the colbert bush bashing with a republican looking over your shoulder. you'll get a speech about "needing to respect the president." you know, just like how the president respects gays and everyone who has less than a few million dollars. i kind of feel like one shouldn't be forced to respect somebody because of a title he barely earned in the first place. i might respect him if he ever used his power to make decisions to positively affect the billions of people who need help. i might respect him if he did something about the greed and corruption of politics and the people around him. i might respect him if he ever admitted to making mistakes. but until then, carry on steve.
speaking of steve, the colbert report just keeps getting funnier and funnier. did anybody see the one where he made "the bomb" because hannity and colmes had "the bomb" on their show? and i love the "better know a district" segments. the other ex-daily-show steve and the office rock my world, too. i laughed so hard last week at all of the things jim has done to dwight. "this morning i found a bloody rubber glove in my drawer and jim tried to convince me i committed murder. i think he's the real murderer." brilliant stuff. i'm almost starting to feel guilty because the daily show--while still awesome--is losing a bit of my attention. it's like when you're a kid and you get a new stuffed animal. your trusty pound purry gets thrown under the bed while you and funshine bear* now host the best tea parties.
*shhhh, nobody tell steve colbert i'm using bears in a metaphore about him
